I Heart Hearts....

Yesterday, I was getting ready to put away a small birch tree with lights that I use for Christmas and winter decor when I got the (brilliant) idea to hang pink die cut hearts on it to give my house a bit of Valentine's color.

Then I decided this jar needed a heart and a doily....

And the light fixture needed a heart....

I  ðŸ’— hearts..... and my house just got a color cure!

Another Valentine!

Today's color therapy is more PINK!  Pinks make me feel all happy inside.  And color is the cure to chase away the winter blahs caused by looking at the dreary browns here in Pennsylvania.

I decided that I need to get out of my comfort zone and try a "clean and simple" design for this card. This was a stretch for me, because I don't do anything clean and simple.  I used a reverse die cut technique for the hearts, which is a lot like reverse applique in quilting.

I think I may try another clean and simple design for my next card... who knows?!

Valentine Colors and Coffee

People who know me, know I love coffee.... good strong coffee from an actual coffee shop.  I love lattes and espressos, so my cards this week all feature the Fun Stampers Journey stamp set, Hey Sugar!, which is a coffee themed stamp set. The colors for this week are pinks and reds for Valentine's Day and browns for the Coffee theme. Join me below for some color therapy!

This is the card I worked on today.  I created my own designer paper for the background by repeatedly stamping the coffee cup (which may contain your favorite latte) with the appropriately named color of Hazelnut Blend ink.  I added touches of glitter and white Whip Cream ink on the button and all over the card to give it a shabby chic look. Two shades of pink and brown complete this coffee and Valentine themed card.

I created another look for this set earlier this week, using a monocomatic color scheme with Bubblegum Pink. I created the designer background papers by sponging ink through the Linked Lines screen and stamping with the Striped Wall stamp. I love confectionary pastel pink!

I created yet another look with this set using Candy Apple red hearts for a bolder and classic Valentine's color scheme with the same browns for the nod to coffee.

As you can see, I LOVE this stamp set!
