Nurse Lizzy

Another DigiStamp Boutique image with Copics...
~~~~~~
I did this card for my daughter who is about to graduate from the West Virginia University nursing program. I added the caption "Nurse Lizzy" because her childhood nickname was Lizzy and inside the card I wrote that even when she becomes a full-fledged nurse, she will always be our little girl.
~~~~~~
I added a humorous touch by using gauze to make the bow and attaching it with a butterfly bandage.

Copic Creations Challenge 22

Copic Creations Challenge No. 22
Suzie with Flowers by DigiStamp Boutique
*
This card represents several "firsts" for me...
*
  • My first CHALLENGE ever...
I made this card for the Copic Creations challenge blog.
  • My first time COLORING EMBELLISHMENTS ....
The challenge is to color embellishments with Copics but this is my first time with any type of marker or ink!
  • My first time using my Stampin' Up! PRETTIES KIT....
It's been sitting unused because... I don't know... it's too pretty to use?? This was a perfect time to finally bring it out and use.because that's the whole point of the Pretties Kit. Everything in it is all white so it can be colored with inks to match your project. I used flowers and pearls from the kit.
  • My first time doing PAPER PIECING as part of an image...
This was actually not part of the original design BUT Suzie's dress wasn't blending like I wanted and I decided to try this technique to cover it up! I've had trouble with printer ink bleeding and sprayed the image with fixative as I read this helps. I think maybe the fixative was too thick maybe? Because it couldn't possibly be my blending skills, right? Another example of how there is no mistakes in crafting!!! We work with our imperfections and often come up with a better result then the original idea... that's creativity!

THANKS FOR LOOKING!!!

White on Blue.... Shabby Chic Flower

We had a blast last Sunday making these shabby chic flowers and small "pizza" box at a Stampin' Up! workshop held at my house. My sister/consultant, Phyllis, is so talented!!
My flower came out a bit lop-sided... I shaped it by crumpling until it looked more balanced. It gave a more "shabby chic" look to the flower which I like! Crafters always say there are no mistakes in crafting... any imperfection can be transformed.

MATERIALS

Punches: Eyelet Border, Scallop Trim Border (Sale-a-Brations), Scallop Trim Corner (Occasions Mini), Boho Blossoms

Paper & Embellishments: Not Quite Navy CS, Bella Bleu DP, Kraft Corduroy button

Color Cure is born!

I finally took the plunge and started a blog...

It's that time of year when everything is gray and drab outside and I was thinking how much more beautiful things look with color... and how much better I feel when I see color.... and the name Color Cure popped in my head!
